French Cesarian Births
The French Ambulatory Cesarean Section method was introduced in Israel a few years ago and is gaining popularity. Besides having the advantage of a significantly quicker recovery than the regular C-Section, the French method also gives the mother an active part in giving birth by the use of a Guillarme blower (a kind of mouthpiece like a whistle that is used for stomach and pelvic-floor muscle excercises), which helps the laboring woman simulate the pushing that is required at the end of a regular birth and facilitates delivery.
The French method was brought to Israel by Pelvic-Floor Physiotherapist, Sivan Navot, who is at the mother's side and guiding her throughout the procedure, and by Obstetrician-Gynocologist, Dr. Israel Hendler, who is operating on the other side of the curtain.
